Dafforn & Son

Dafforn & Son is an independent family run funeral directors, 

located close to the centre of Great Torrington, on New Street, 

opposite St Michael & All Angels Church. 

Dafforn & Son, was first opened by Simon Dafforn, who ran the business until his retirement. It was at this time the co-op took over the business for a brief time before selling in 2010 the business to local and experienced funeral director Roger Byrom. Roger grew up and has lived in North Devon most of his life, he had also worked for the co-op for many years beforehand, so he has a deep understanding and knowledge of the community. Roger's son Chris also joined the team shortly after and became a full time member of the team in 2012. We are proud to be a local family owned funeral directors, 

with our roots set in the community.

Alongside Roger and Chris, our funeral arranger Laura Ward is a knowledgeable member of the team. She will happily discuss and answer any questions you may have. Outside of work you may know Laura from her many community activities, as well as a town councillor.
